Anyone have a picture of their bull with plastidipped rims? Im specifically looking for a tuxedo black bull with anthracite grey or black rims because those are the two colors I'm considering. jrdnhsnbrg posted a picture of his pretty bull on one of my past threads but I still can't decide on which color to use. Random Fuse
Hey guys, I was looking under my 2001 Ford Taurus on the front left side and I saw this wire sticking out under the engine. It was not connected to anything because I was able to pull it out easily and I realized there was a fuse attach to it. The thing is I do not know where this fuse came from or what it is for. Anyone have an idea where this fuse attaches to?

Spark Plug Boots came off!
I just bought a 2010 Taurus Limited, with 108K miles. I had the coolant flushed, the oil changed, and I put in new air and cabin filters. I figured the plugs were probably not changed, so, I went to check them today, and after the first two, on the front of the motor, had the boot come off the coil pack, I quit, to re-group!
Any one have this problem? It would seem I may have to pull the cam cover and plug tubes to get the boots off. Any suggestions?
Maybe wait for a cold day, so the boots are not as flexible. The engine was cold, BTW.
This seems to indicate the plugs were NOT changed at 90K!
The car still runs good, and is averaging almost 28mpg at 4700 to 5300 ft altitude at 65 mph.

Express "up" on drivers side 92 SHO
Hey all,
back in 08 I added express up to my driver's side window and express up and down to my passenger side window on my 95 wagon. Well, 7 yrs burning down the road and Im doing the same thing to my 92 SHO. I found my original post on how to do this w/the passenger side but not the driver's side
So, anyone know how to wire in the 2nd module on the driver's side?

Rear Brake Dragging- Can't find the issue
Passenger side brake drum is getting piping hot and is squealing, squeaking/chirping off and on. The drum itself is almost a purple color form how hot it gets.
I bought new shoes and drums.
Today I saw that the right brake shoe is completely gone, the left one is fine. The chirping started a while ago but wasn't frequent. Last week the right shoe wasn't as bad as it is now.
-The shoes are backed all the way off.
-When brakes are applied, the shoes don't move until the pedal is to the floor, and only the left unworn shoe moves.
-The parking brake has no effect on that side
-The hub moves freely and quietly.
I put on the new drum and rotated it. Sure enough it got stuck and was dragging on and off like the drum is warped.
The second I slightly tighten the wheel back to the hub, it's locked in most spots. I picked myself up on the wheel before it would budge when it was on a lift.
My MPG doesn't add up and this is the issue. Everything was cleaned, checked and moved and nothing was found amiss.
:unsure: She's falling apart quickly but I at least need my brakes (and fuel mileage)
A shop quoted me $500 and said it sounded like I need new hardware ($12) and backing plates. $500?

I don't even have my Taurus yet, but I already have a few things in mind. Tentatively... she will be called "Blue-ga".
Curious on this potentially unpopular opinion though: unlike most of the people here, I am steering towards (pun) the 19" size rims as an modification because the SEL 18s just feel too small and the 20s scare me as a Minnesota drivers. The 19" looks right, even if it is a wildly uncommon tire size. Some of these potholes here are killer.
The two candidates are the 2010-12 Mustang GT 19" five-spokes or the 2013 SEL/SHO 19" ten-spokes. Motor Trend tested the 2013 in the exact color I'm getting - bonus, it has those wheels:

sticky caliper
about once per week for the past 4-6 weeks on my drive home from work (a 25 minute commute ~70mph on the highway ) my right front caliper has been locking up. it causes a very bad smell and the entire wheel gets etremely hot to the touch, while all other wheels remain cool.
i have already replaced the rotor, pads (twice!), calipers (thrice!), but the issue still occurs. i only bled the brakes and added more fluid afterwards. i did not flush the system.
i found some posts that describe the exact same issue i am experiencing.

Torque convertor failing
The car been rattling on going thru gears after it goes in gear no noise. I jacked up the car thinking its the axles and it not. I did notice the axles was not from a sho (smaller) so I replaced both. The car goes thru all gears on jack stands no noise. Recently the car now lose 1 to second gear after driving a while. I work at a shop so I don't drive any where far. Is it the torque convertor or did the axle spline get damaged from the wrong axles.
So hopefully it the torque convertor because the transmission was rebuilt years ago. What are the signs of a failing torque convertor?

Which Schrader valves does the Taurus use for AC?
98 Taurus OHV. Need to replace suction line Schrader so I'll do both. Stores carry JRA, hi-flow and R134a. They're not the same size, other differences unknown.
Anyone know which valve is the correct one?

2015 SEL AWD - Key Fob / Ignition Question
I just picked up a 2015 SEL AWD this week with the standard V6 (I had a 2012 SEL AWD prior to the 2015). It has push button start.
My question is: When I get out of the car when the engine is running and close the door (with the key FOB / Smart Key in my pocket), the horn honks twice. How can I disable this? Thank you in advance.

What's the deal with this? AC
1997 Wagon 3.0 OHV
After taking the radio out. The AC did not work (at first).
Upon driving in hot weather. I turned in on and off. Left it off. Left in on.
High, medium, low.
Just hot air.
I actually went to an AC place to check. And low and behold - the AC worked fine (a different later day). All last year.
Same, same. Happened this year. I had taken radio out and put back in.
No AC the first drive.
Next trip, next day - the AC works.
AC works fine now.
Maybe all is a coincidence. Or I am in the Twilight Zone.
But could the taking of radio out (the AC switch is on radio) make any difference?

New to Taurus, not to Ford :D
Hey. My name is Robert and I just lucked into a 2003 Ford Taurus for $200 bucks. In pretty good condition minus some rust in non-critical areas and of course it does not drive, I believe it to be the torque converter from the sounds of it.
I have driven a Ford Escort for almost a decade now, and love them, and so I could not pass up another Ford that fell into my lap. I am sure this site will be as awesome and informative as the other forums I attend for my other vehicles.
I look forward to making some new friends here and maybe, getting to know my car well enough I can become a valuable contributor.
